Delete your MemoChat account

MemoChat is operated by AnimaTech OÜ. You can delete your MemoChat account in the app or request server-side deletion without reinstalling it.

Delete inside the app

  1. Open MemoChat and go to Settings.
  2. Tap your profile card to open Edit Profile.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the warning and confirm.

Account deletion cannot be undone.

Request deletion without the app

Email info@memochat.net with the subject Delete my MemoChat account. Include the MemoChat username or public ID for the account. We may ask you to verify control of the account before deletion.

Do not send your one-time password, authentication token, private encryption key, or message content.

What is deleted

An in-app deletion request removes the account and profile, authentication and push tokens, settings, subscriptions, chat relationships, the account's authored messages and associated media, and its server-side Firebase identity-key and presence records. An email request starts the same verified server-side process after we confirm control of the account.

When an in-app deletion completes, the app attempts to clear that device's local SQLCipher database, decrypted media, drafts, caches, and device encryption identity. An email request cannot remotely erase an offline, uninstalled, or otherwise unreachable device. MemoChat cannot guarantee when or whether that separate local copy disappears; remove the app's local data and relevant device backups through the operating-system controls for that device.

What may remain

Other users' own messages are not deleted merely because they previously chatted with the deleted account. Encrypted data may temporarily reappear after a protected-backup restore until deletion reconciliation runs. Associated storage, provider, and backup removal may complete later than the account record itself.

Limited information may be isolated and retained only where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or a legal obligation.

Individual messages

Use MemoChat's message deletion controls for individual messages. Delete for me affects only your view. Delete for everyone removes your selected message for chat participants when that control is available.
